OSED LLC - Otto-Sorensen Economic Development LLC

OSED LLC was formed in early 2011 to represent Mr. Ruben Martin, owner, for the purpose of presenting this offering of the 80 acre residential/commercial Zurqui Hills development including the CheTica Ranch Medical Recovery Center and proposals for alternate and supplementary uses for some of the property. OSED LLC will also act as Project Managers for all phases of engineering, construction and initial operation of this enterprise. We will maintain accurate and reportable schedules of implementation activities as well as detailed financial oversight.

Management Team
Bill Otto and Eldon Sorensen

Bill Otto has been associated with Ruben Martin (owner and operator of CheTica Ranch and Zurqui Hills) and his family for 12 years, having first visited Costa Rica with his wife, shortly after his retirement from the aircraft industry (Boeing). Bill, a graduate of the University of Michigan, spent his career in various manufacturing, technical and service industry environments. He has worked and lived primarily in the United States, but has also found his work in South Pacific’s Marshall Islands as well as Saudi Arabia and has traveled widely throughout the world. Bill has been instrumental in leading cross-functional teams assigned to various industrial, logistics and development projects. He was responsible for bringing these projects to completion with results of sizable monetary savings and well within budget and schedule restraints. These projects range from industrial and manufacturing computer monitored and/or controlled automation systems – (e.g. 1. One of the first computer monitored and controlled automotive transfer machines, 2. A very large and complex 7 computer controlled material handling and storage system for a leading US manufacturer of tobacco products, 3. Co-inventor of the world-famous cable TV Weather Channel, 4. Development of advanced computer logistics systems for a US Government facility on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands, among others, 5. Key member of a multi-national team for developing logistic plans in support of a proposed super jumbo jet for commercial use, and other important assignments in the commercial jet airplane industry.)

Bill has had numerous opportunities during his career to utilize project management tools to assist in the management and oversight of project progress and alternate plans as the projects unfold and require changes.

Eldon K Sorensen

Eldon’s professional background has been centered in many attributes of business and business management. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from North Central University and an MBA centered in Finance and Accounting from Regis University. As a commercial banker for 10 years Eldon was instrumental in correcting and cleaning up a multimillion dollar loan portfolio of a community commercial bank in the Seattle Washington area. Also while in this role he successfully loaned many millions of dollars to small to medium size business based upon his judgment of various businesses viabilities and an analysis of their credit worthiness. He subsequently has spent over 20 years in senior leadership positions of small to medium sized “for profit” organizations. Such roles has allowed him to turn struggling business around only to see them build and expand based upon sound business practices and proven leadership principals. These businesses have included a large multiple clinic medical practice, a sizable independent movie theater chain with locations covering three states, and a key financial software company with a 1,200 niche business client based covering all 50 states in the U.S.

Eldon’s core competencies are centered in business management, in-depth financial analysis, management consulting and project management. Eldon has known Bill Otto for over 25 years.
